General Discussion: Herodutus, is he the father of History

I would agree that he is probably the origianl GREEK historian.

I'd say that Herodotus is "Father of Tabloid History", he enjoys a good story and rarely lets facts get in the way of one. I'd say Thucydides and his "History of the Peloponesian War" is the true father of history, but I doubt he could have done the work he did without Herodotus' "The Histories" as a precursor.
